About this event

All Pennwriters Courses are conducted in a “live” presentation format utilizing the Zoom platform. If a conflict arises based on the required meeting times, please contact the instructor and Online Courses Coordinator to find a possible solution. ALL sessions will be recorded. Recordings are available to participants for 1-2 weeks after each recorded session.

In this workshop we’ll:
  • Talk about how historical research improves your writing and story.
  • Discuss where to look for information in person and how to optimize your research trips.
  • Explore some of the popular online sites for information, including using AI as a research assistant.
  • Discuss what types of things to look for when you research and evaluating their value to
    your story.
  • Talk about incorporating your research into your story.

Instructor Bio:

Jim Rada
James Rada, Jr. is an Amazon.com bestselling author of historical fiction and non-fiction history. They include the popular books Strike the Fuse, Canawlers, and Battlefield Angels: The Daughters of Charity Work as Civil War Nurses.

He lives in Gettysburg, Pa., where he works as a freelance writer.
