ONLINE COURSES
Jim Rada is holding an online intensive class, You Can Handle the Truth: Searching for Authenticity, on Saturday, July 25 from 2-5 p.m.
The August online course is Marketing for Fun and Profit with Jim Rada. It meets on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m.
Deborah Riley-Magnus is holding an online intensive class, The Creative Brilliance Academy, Part One on Saturday, September 12 from 1-4 p.m.
The October online course is Long Story Short: The Fundamentals of Crafting a Short Story with Derek Tyler Attico. It meets Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m.
The November online course is A Freelancer Prepares with Timons Esaias. It meets Tuesdays from 7:30-9 p.m.
December: No course. Enjoy the holidays!
ERIE MINI-CONFERENCE
Registration is open for Area 1's annual Writer's Road Trip! It will be held Saturday, October 3 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Zem Zem Shrine Club in Erie. Details at the link.
PITTSBURGH CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS NEEDED
Workshop proposals for the 2027 conference in Pittsburgh, our 40th!, will be accepted from July 20-September 30. The conference chairs will make offers by November 1.
A great conference needs great workshops! In addition to the warm feeling of sharing your knowledge with your fellow writers, you'll cut your own conference expenses because presenters receive free hotel and conference days (1 night at the hotel and 1 day of the conference for 1 workshop; 2 nights and 2 days for 2 or more workshops).
See the graphic below for a general overview of what you will need to submit. You should have received details recently by email, but let me know if you need them again. Proposals should be sent to conferencecoordinators@pennwriters.org by September 30.

Carrie Jacobs released her 14th sweet romance novel, Holly Jolly Humbug, on July 3. This is a completely stand-alone holiday romance packed full of all those fun Christmas tropes that show up in the movies we binge all December long. It's got Noelle, who isn't a fan of Christmas, Luke, the mayor of a Christmas-themed town, his golden retriever Missy (short for Mistletoe), and, of course, a Christmas cookie bake-off competition.
